Possible paid work as Aussie Travel Writer

Hi – just received this and thought I’d let you all know about this. I know Kathy personally – so its not some dodgy offer…..

Very briefly though FAT is a magazine, travel guide and directory all rolled into one. FAT is small enough to fit in your pocket, but durable enough to hang around in your backpack for a few years. FAT has a paid distribution of 61,000+ per edition, located in travel hotspots across the country. FAT’s reader demographic is the 18-30 year old market. FAT is built to last. Although FAT is printed in June and December, each edition remains current and durable for years to come. We like to think of FAT as a book more than a magazine or directory.

I have a few articles I need written, and thought I’d list them to see if you or someone you know would be interested.

At this stage I’m taking on those that are happy to be published with their byline with the potential to become a regular paid contributor depending on their suitability.

*Ned Kelly

*Aboriginal history & culture

*Driving in Australia- How? Tips. Overview

*Hazards in Oz- This can include humour. Including brief overview of medical system for travellers. This should include humour.

*4WDing

*Australia- The beginning to now.

*Working in Australia

*Destination information- Needed for NSW, ACT, VIC, SA, WA

*Australian music festivals

If you’re interested, I’d be looking for 500-1000 words to go over 1-2 pages.

The piece would need to be informative, yet easy to read (remember the demographic)

Any additional tips or musings would also be beneficial.

Deadline would be 9th April, but anytime prior would be good.

Please, if you could forward this on and direct any interest to editorial@travelwithafat.com ASAP. ( Kathy Percell)
