I’ve just discovered  Mookychick, an weekly online magazine for alternative women. Its gutsy, authentic, and challanges how feminism has been both treated but percieved by our society.

Oh – and its launched a writing competition.

Feminist Flash 2011 is their annual writing competition.  This year it will be judged by some freaking awesome  feminist writers and activists Lena Chen, Julie Zeilinger and Kaite Welsh.

To enter, simply write a haiku, poem or flash fiction of no more than 200 words which relates to a feminist theme. The competition is free to enter and has some great prizes.

First Prize

  • £100 (or your country’s equivalent)
  • Publication with a link to your blog on Mookychick
  • 1 Year digital subscription to the fabled BUST magazine!

2 x Runner-Up Prizes

£25, Publication on Mookychick, 1 Year digital subscription to BUST magazine!

10 x Shortlisted Prizes

Publication on Mookychick.

For full details please check out the contest entry page, but be quick. The closing date is 30 November 2011.
