Lucky Sevens – a Meme

Filed under: WIP Work in Progress,Writing Meme — Annie Evett @ 4:09 pm

Thanks to Tomara Armstrong  I have been tagged on a writing meme. Its actually a good kick up the pants as my WIP has not been looked at for over a year and just reading a little of it made me realise that I am actually still passionate about it and do want to see it in print.

Mystress Moon is a feministic spec fic questioning the rules of culture and its influences on the heart.  I have just over 50k words written in it, all the chapters worked out..sigh.. yes I know.. I should get it edited and do something with it.

So here are the rules:

1. Go to page 77 in your current manuscript

2. Go to line 7

3. Copy down the next seven lines as they are – no cheating

4. Tag 7 other authors (Done on Facebook)

Tanissa stripped her gowns off and plunged into the water, luxuriating in the feeling of her naked skin being caressed by the warmed water. Absently she noted the new guardians taking their posts at the doorway and then closed her eyes as she floated around. The tinkling of the small waterfall at one end and the gentle lapping of the water against her skin relaxed her mind and body as she drifted between consciousness and sleep. The warm water embraced her body, feeling like thickened honey around her.

Her relaxed body floated towards the side of the pool and her hand brushed against another’s. She found herself sliding her fingers along the spaces between the long fingers and explored the sensation of being disconnected from all other bodily sensations bar the tingling touch at her hand. In her dream state she heard a distant murmering, but it too fading out into darkness.

  1. Nice! I confess, I thought you were responding to the Sevens post where I tagged you on FB, but I think I must have done something wrong. It doesn’t look like it actually linked to people I tagged… weird.

    Nice excerpt!
