It is the intention of Cats with Thumbs to create opportunities for emerging artists in order to foster their creative growth and provide exposure. There is a plethora of quality anthologies and competitions focused on genre fiction, but very little to encourage emerging literary fiction writers, poets and creative artists. It is Cats with Thumbs intention to fill that gap. Something beautiful too is that they also recognise the integral part artwork makes as a creative form and welcome emerging artists to submit their work for inclusion to the anthologies.
Cats with Thumbs publish a free blogzine twice a year. In addition, they plan to publish on Amazon, a “best of” chosen from favourite pieces, in July each year.
Novembers Issue has just been published and its my privilege to launch it here on my blog today! The theme for this edition is “exploration”.
The grey area between poetry and the short story has blurred to an indescribable smudge over the past year. The emergence of dribbles, drabbles, hint, smoke, twiction, sudden pros, threshold fiction, nano, micro fiction, short shots and flash makes categorising these forms extremely difficult.
So with this in mind, our contributors to the new look Cats with Thumbs Literary magazine have not had their work boxed into a set category, but rather, the words be allowed to mingle to create a beautiful experience for the reader.
With stunning photographs and artwork mingling amongst the words, this is a feast for the soul. Readers are encouraged to download and freely distribute amongst their networks.
